💡 Tuk Tip: End sentences with “lah” and you’re halfway to local cool points. (“Ok lah,” “Can lah,” “Nice lah.”)
Local Quirks & Customs
Queue culture: Respect lines everywhere - don’t be the rogue tourist.
Hawker etiquette: Order politely, say “lah” at the end, smile at vendors.
Food culture: Shiok! is a required exclamation.
Footwear & cleanliness: Shoes off indoors or in some temples; streets are clean, littering is frowned upon.
Tuk-tuk / Grab: Grab works everywhere - tuk-tuks are not common, but scooters exist in outskirts.
💡 Tuk Tip: Add “lah” to your sentences for instant local charm. Bonus: trying a durian? Only
with a grin and bravery.
